Cut from 100% organic cotton and hand printed using only azo-free dyes, Alma is a full length day dress with a shirred bodice and gentle puff sleeves. Intricate lace and pintuck detailing decorate the skirt. The sleeves and skirt are trimmed with a cotton schiffli lace we specially found – petite scalloped edges with tiny floral eyelets for the sleeves and a unique mix of trailing rosettes and sunburst motifs along the skirt. Quietly romantic, Alma carries an easy, timeless beauty.

Care

Machine wash cold. Wash with like colours. Turn inside out when washing. Dry in shade. Do not tumble dry. Iron on reverse using low heat setting to smooth out any creases. Mist any creases with some water for easy ironing.

Darker colours, such as red, navy, and black, may release excess dye in the first few washes. This is completely normal. Please wash with care and avoid soaking. You may wish to use colour catcher sheets when laundering. Each piece has been carefully treated for colour fastness to help preserve both colour and print.

Hand Screen Printing

Stencils are used in screen printing, where the stencilled artwork is placed into a wooden frame and dyes are passed through the stencil and onto the fabric — a process that is completely done by hand. Each frame prints a section of the fabric and one colour is painted each time, this is done repeatedly until the pattern is completed. The pigment saturates the cloth to give a unique depth of colour which is controlled by the printer’s hands. We also rely on natural dyeing and drying methods when producing our fabrics.

Subtle variances in depth and irregularities in print and colour are natural characteristics of hand screen printing and the nature of a handmade process.

Textile — Rosecombe

A romantic palette of vintage rose and earthy green fills the Rosecombe print. Its floral motifs coloured in rose and accompanied by soft dusty coral berries. The stems are outlined in a gentle terracotta hue, adding quiet dimension to each little bouquet of florals and berries. The mix of pinks, reds and mellow corals creates a simple romance. Rosecombe was originally printed with chartreuse toned green leaves but we finally decided on an earthier green which tied the palette together with ease.
