In 100% organic cotton, the Olivia House Dress is a light flowing romantic mini silhouette designed to move with your body. A straight neckline framed with layered ruffled sleeves adds balance to the mini silhouette. Olivia is finished with a keyhole buttoned detailing on the back and a tiered hem to add volume. Lined with soft cotton voile for comfort and is complete with pockets on both sides.

Care

Machine wash cold. Wash with like colours. Turn inside out when washing. Dry in shade. Do not tumble dry. Iron on reverse using low heat setting to smooth out any creases. Mist any creases with some water for easy ironing.

Darker colours, such as red, navy, and black, may release excess dye in the first few washes. This is completely normal. Please wash with care and avoid soaking. You may wish to use colour catcher sheets when laundering. Each piece has been carefully treated for colour fastness to help preserve both colour and print.

Block Printing

Pressed by hand using intricately carved wooden blocks, the prints rendered on the pieces are made with care and dedication. Each motif is carved carefully on teak wooden blocks, dipped into dyes before being pressed onto the fabric. This step is repeated slowly — motif by motif, colour by colour until the pattern is completed. The pigment saturates the cloth to give a unique depth of colour which is controlled by the block printer’s hands. We also rely on natural dyeing and drying methods when producing our fabrics.

Subtle variances in depth and irregularities in print and colour are natural characteristics of hand block printing and the nature of a handmade process.

Print — Sunrise Posy

Sunrise colours on a traditional posy print. Complementary shades of ocean blues colour the stem, petals and leaves, while a contrasting shade of burnt orange adds dimension to the final motif. Each colour and motif is hand printed in sequence, starting with the stem and ending with the petals. Hand printed on 100% GOTS certified organic cotton.
