Alby is designed with a nod to easy classic day dresses. Wide shoulder straps lend vintage charm to the silhouette while ruffles adorning the neckline add subtle romantic detailing. Alby is a midi length dress designed to be fitted around the chest, while the a-line skirt cuts a flattering silhouette.

Care

Machine wash cold. Wash with like colours. Turn inside out when washing. Dry in shade. Do not tumble dry. Iron on reverse using low heat setting to smooth out any creases. Mist any creases with some water for easy ironing.

Darker colours, such as red, navy, and black, may release excess dye in the first few washes. This is completely normal. Please wash with care and avoid soaking. You may wish to use colour catcher sheets when laundering. Each piece has been carefully treated for colour fastness to help preserve both colour and print.

Hand Screen Printing

Stencils are used in screen printing, where the stencilled artwork is placed into a wooden frame and dyes are passed through the stencil and onto the fabric — a process that is completely done by hand. Each frame prints a section of the fabric and one colour is painted each time, this is done repeatedly until the pattern is completed. The pigment saturates the cloth to give a unique depth of colour which is controlled by the printer’s hands. We also rely on natural dyeing and drying methods when producing our fabrics.

Subtle variances in depth and irregularities in print and colour are natural characteristics of hand screen printing and the nature of a handmade process.

Textile — Majolica

A simple and elegant floral repeating pattern coloured in the deepest ocean blue, accompanied by little sprigs of gentle leaves painted in a shade of complementary lake blue. Majolica’s ditsy floral pattern has a quiet vintage charm - we added the tiniest all over burgundy polka dots to finish the look!
